Story Swap "Folk & Fairy Tales"

This is an Open Mic for folk and fairy tales. Indicate you want to tell when registering. Names will be chosen randomly. Stories are to be 10 minutes or less, and told not read. No judging at this event - just lots of fun hearing the old tales come alive!
Story listeners are welcome to register for Swaps and Slam.
Story Swap "Anything Goes"
Host: Sheila Arnold 5:15 - 6:30 pm CDT
All storytellers of any experience level may participate in this informal storytelling event. Tellers in the circle volunteer to share their favorite stories - personal, folktale, fairy tale or literary - Anything Goes! Stories are to be 10 minutes or less, and told not read. Sign up when you register. Names will be chosen randomly.
Story Slam "Cocktails for the Wicked"
Hosts: Loren Niemi & Ward Rubrecht
8:30 - 10:00 pm CDT
Keeping the tradition of gathering at the end of the day, enjoy your beverage of choice while partaking in the Northlands Story Slam. Slam storytelling is the art of pouring your heart and soul out on stage and consenting to have five randomly-chosen audience members grade your performance on a scale of 1-10. The highest score at the end of the night is the winner! If that sounds scary, don’t worry – it’s all in good fun at the Northlands Story Slam.
The theme this year is “Against the Tide.” Anybody may tell a story that relates to the theme. Sign up when you register. Names will be chosen randomly. Stories must be 5 minutes or less, and told not read.
