Call for Fringe Performance Applications

Northlands Storytelling Network is pleased to be offering Fringe performance opportunities as part of our April conference! In keeping with Fringe tradition, the sky is the limit. If selected, you get to fill up to 55 minutes with any combination of story, song, dance, monologue, stand-up comedy, performance art, puppetry, etc. Fringe performers will be selected by non-juried lottery. Carefully review the details below and consider putting it on the line at the Northlands Fringe!



  1. Fringe submission is open to all current Northlands members, including workshop presenters, concert tellers and conference attendees.
  2. Chosen performers must register for the conference. Beyond that, there is no other fee or remuneration.
  3. Northlands provides the room, with chairs…ALL other aspects (technical needs, publicity, etc.) are the responsibility of the performer.
  4. Performers will be given 10 minutes prior to their published time for any/all set-up. Any introduction, if necessary, is to be considered part of the 55 minutes of performance.
  5. One submission per member – either solo or with partner/group.


  1. Submit the following information
  • Name, address, phone & email
  • Title of your 55-minute program
  • Maximum 40-word description of your program
  • Category Identification (i.e., Adult, Family, etc.)
  • Content Warning(s) if appropriate: i.e., adult language, nudity, violence, strobe lights, sexual content, etc.
  1. Submission deadline, January 26, 2018 (emailed no later than 11:59 PM your time)
  2. Email Submission to and put FRINGE SUBMISSION in the subject line. A confirmation email will be sent to you when your submission is received.


  • The lottery will be a blind draw.
  • Performers selected in the lottery will be notified by January 30, 2018.
  • Selected performers must confirm their participation by February 10, 2018.
  • A waiting list will be generated and people from the list will be moved to performance slots in the event selected performers cannot attend or fail to meet the aforementioned requirements.
  • Performance slots will be determined by Northlands. There will be 1 slot on Friday evening, 3 slots on Saturday afternoon, and 1 slot on Saturday night.
